Federation of German Societies of Indianapolis
In 1932 the Federation of German Societies was formed by 22 Indianapolis area German organizations for the purpose of purchasing land for the enjoyment of the members of the organizations. In 1934 this group of German-Americans purchased 26 acres of scrub land several miles south of downtown Indianapolis that is today's German Park.

Indiana German Heritage Society, Inc.
On March 16, 1984, the Indiana German Heritage Society, Inc. was founded as a State-wide historical and educational membership organization. Headed by a volunteer board of directors, it is a non-profit organization and qualifies for tax-deductible donations. The choir has its seat in Indianapolis in a famous historic landmark, Das Deutsche Haus-Athenaeum, built 1893-1898. Offices and meeting rooms are shared with the Max Kade German-American Center of Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

The Rathskeller
The Rathskeller Restaurant, located at the lower levels of the Athenaeum, is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Indiana and offers fine German and German-American food.

The Columbus, Ohio Maennerchor
"The Oldest and Largest German-American Singing Society in North America" The home of J.P. Bruck was the first meeting place of the "Deutscher Maennerchor" on October 24, 1848. Twelve recently arrived refugees from upheaval in Europe shared six candles by which to rehearse, and to organize one of the earliest German-American choruses.

Germania Maennerchor, Evansville
Several song-loving German immigrants gathered at the home of George Kuebler on Sunday, January 21, 1900. They discussed the possibility of forming a new German singing society. The eight men in attendance voted in favor of this and set the date for their first meeting on Sunday, February 4, 1900 at Joe Benken’s Halle, a tavern on the corner of Delaware and Second Avenue. Fourteen men showed up for that first meeting at "Uncle Joe’s" Hall and organized themselves as Germania Maennerchor von Evansville (Germania Men’s Chorus of Evansville).

Madison, WI Maennerchor
The Madison Maennerchor (Madison, Wisconsin) is the oldest of the German singing organizations in Wisconsin and the second oldest in the United States. It was founded in February of 1852 by twelve Madisonians of German descent who were lovers of singing and accomplished musicians as well.
